These wooden statues, which were handmade by our artisans, are all representative of Cambodian handicraft. They require patience and thoroughness from the wood carvers who sculpted them for long hours. Artisans Angkor provides training to its craftsmen to make them understand the specificities of the material on which they work, and learn to capture the movements used in olden times. Our artisans, who made their tools by themselves, master the art of turning a simple piece of wood into a refined work of art. Several of the statues you will find in this category also exist in the Stone and Polychrome categories, in the Statues and Animals sub-categories.
