Artisans Angkor's artistic team consists of 27 young Cambodian people who are devoted to Research & Development of new pieces. It is led by a Cambodian Artistic Director, Mr. Sareth Svay, who is also an artist that exhibits internationally.
This team has designed the new lines of products introduced to our collection every year. They have very diverse backgrounds: Mr. Svay completed his diploma at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Caen, France. As an artist recognized on the international stage, he participated to several exhibitions, artist talks and workshops around the world. He took part in the Contemporary Art in Cambodia: A Historical Inquiry event, at the Modern Museum of Art in New York as well as the Merging Metaphors event during an Indo-ASEAN Artist Residency in Darjeeling, India, to name a few. He also participated in a large number of solo and group exhibitions in many parts of the world such as Germany, Singapore, France, Cambodia, and South Korea…
Several people of the team are gifted former craftsmen who showed so much creativity that they were invited to join the artistic department, others are young artists who were trained at Phare Ponleu Selpak (a non-profit Cambodian association that offers quality arts training) and other ones were students from the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh.
This creative team designed the majestic pieces that are displayed in our Prestige Gallery.
